From the College of Communications and Information Studies:
The video game market has doubled in value in the past five years, and this fast-track growth will continue in the years to come as it expands in the mobile and online sectors. See how your creative talent or innovative urge can make your part of this exciting global revolution by joining a conversation with Heather Chandler, a veteran game developer and producer, in a public talk at UK on “Mapping Your Future in the Video Game Industry.” The talk is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Room 102 of the White Hall Classroom Building.
Heather has worked in the video game industry for 15 years, including production work on “Sacred 2: Fallen Angel,” “Two Worlds,” “Monster Madness: Grave Danger,” “Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield,” and eight games in the “Ghost Recon” series. She is the founder and executive producer of Media Sunshine, and her clients have included Villain, Play Eternal, Psyonix Studios, cdv Software, Her Interactive, SDI Media, SouthPeak Games, Artificial Studios and Batallion 52.
In addition to writing several books about game development, Heather is a frequent guest speaker at colleges and universities, and has lectured at GDC, Future Play, and the Montreal Game Summit. She graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University and received an M.A. from the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
This event is sponsored by the Media Arts and Studies program in the UK School of Journalism and Telecommunications, and is open to the public. All interested students are encouraged to attend.
